A Flash Fiction Carnival is a blogging activity wherein participants write a flash fiction story between 500 - 1000 words based on a common theme. Authors may write in their preferred genre. This allows each writer to take a break from a current project, jumpstart a new one, or just have fun writing. Participants are expected to comment on their fellow writers' stories and to be constructive in their criticism. A pat on one's figurative headbone is swell, but an honest critique is better and helps everyone. If there are many writers for a particular carnival, the host can decide on the number of stories to be critiqued. If this occurs, please try to comment on a story that has none or very few remarks. Non-participants are welcome and encouraged to comment on stories as well. Stories are to be posted in each writer's blog or they may be posted here at the FFC 2008 blog. An email to the relevant host is all that is necessary. Specific instructions for each FFC will be posted by its host. General questions may be sent to the admins.

I've been struggling with the theme, but I've finally got something I don't hate. I'll probably post it in the next 24 hours and if I come up with something better before the deadline, I'll post it, too.
I might have something to add to the FFC after all. The start of my short story serial on my blog just happens to fit the theme and I plan on posting it within the next day or do. Two birds down!
